Each comprises a few sub-categories that will have between three and six shortlisted finalists.
The conference has a choice of morning and afternoon sessions. All the speakers at a session are the three to six finalists shortlisted for a sub-category. All the people attending a session are the judges for that sub-category.
At the awards ceremony we declare a winner for each category and for each sub-category, for each industry sector represented and for each judging criterion. There is also an award for the overall winner.[/callout1]
Three award categories
Each award category has its own dedicated conference day where the entries are judged, each has its own section in the supplement in The Independent, each will have its own section at The Times website, and each has its own winner and sub-category winners.
Proposed sub-categories
These are the likely sub-categories within each award category. We expect to update this list after the closing date for submissions, to better reflect the entries that we wish to shortlist. We then expect to confirm them shortly before the conference.
