Most have around a half-page of text but some have a double-page spread, frequently with their video embedded in the text.

How the book looks
This flipbook shows Chapter 1 (“Empowering Women”), with pages at the start and at the end plus comments throughout that explain how the book can work for you.
Each of the 13 chapters that relate to finslists’ entries follow a similar format.
Digital content in the printed book!
An innovation of this book is the use of QR codes to better engage the interest of the reader – with video that appears on the printed page, with designed-for-mobile animated Google Web Stories, and with interactivity through links to the Peer Awards website.

Upgrading to a double-page spread
It is still not too late for your article in the book to be a prestigious double-page spread, giving ample space to share many important aspects about your initiative. This involves an £800 fee but includes 16 copies of the book (value £800) sent to you on publication.
Please do this before the end of September so we can adjust the 1st edition manuscript to accommodate your expanded text. You could arrange for this later, but this would entail a fee to cover the creation and publication of a revised edition.
To proceed please take the upgrade option in the form below and provide the revised text.
Adding your video to the book
It is still not too late to include your video in the book, giving greater depth to your exposure, your company logo on the printed page and a link to your website. This assumes you have a double-page spread and also involves an £800 fee, which includes a further 16 copies of the book.
Please supply this before the middle of October so we can place a QR code in the 1st edition manuscript to trigger your video. You could arrange for this later, but this would entail an additional fee to cover the insertion of a QR code in a revised edition.
Please take the video option in the form and provide a link we can download it from (YouTube is fine).
Here is an example of a video embedded in a double-page spread.
Just scan the image with your mobile camera (you may need a QR reader installed),
click the link to our website and then press ‘Launch’ on the orange panel.
After a few seconds the video should play, as it does on the printed page.

We can also include a quote from your senior person in the printed book.
This would be up to 25 words long and includes their name and job title.
The fee arrangements are as for a video above.
Your Covid experience in this edition
It would be great to be able to include an informative chapter about how our finalists are adapting to (and possibly thriving because of) the ‘new normal’, now and for the future. The plan is for this to be an independent award category in its own right next year, but for now please tell us about your experience, so it can be included.
If you have a substantial story to tell then we could allocate a double-page spread to this, possibly with your own embedded video (and quote), and it may be considered for next year’s awards as well. The fees for this are as for having an increased article as explained above, but we would need to receive and accept your text before the end of September.
Next year’s entry in this 1st edition
If you have an entry ready for next year, and would be wanting a Double-page spread in the next edition of the book for this, possibly with a video and/or a quote, we could squeeze this into the 1st edition right now (if we can receive and accept your text before the end of September).

Packs Explained

Finalists that we would be happy to feature in the book are offered a choice of three packs. The ‘Single A’ pack assures them of an article in the book on one of their entries, the “Double-A” pack adds their video or PDF being displayed on the reader’s mobile, and the “Triple-A” pack adds an acknowledgement of them in person in the article.
As you can see from the table below, each pack includes a quantity of paperbacks that is of equal value to the pack fee. What this means for you is that all of the extra exposure provided by a pack is covered by the cost of the books you pre-order at the published price. And you can cut the average cost per book way down by supplementing your order with more books. The intention is that the ideas of companies featured in the book will reach as broad a spectrum of interested parties as possible, as finalists also help circulate the book.

FOR THIS YEAR’S FINALISTS
Every finalist with an entry shortlisted in the 2020 Peer Awards has their company name and entry (title and strap-line) in the Shortlists section. Entries that won in a category or were given an Award for Innovation are celebrated there too. These companies are listed in the Directory of Finalists.
Provided at no charge.
In addition, we plan to showcase this year’s entries online at this website, subject to finalist agreement and possibly some editing.
Inclusion is assured as part of each of these three packs.
COMPANY ARTICLE
Selected finalists will be offered an article in the paperback focusing on distinctive engagement and empowerment aspects of their entry. The company name will be in the article heading. These companies are also listed in the Directory of Finalists with a QR code that links to their Wikipedia page (or website homepage if none exists), and articles are referenced along with the company name in the book’s Table of Contents.
Can include a comment from one of the judges.
Inclusion is assured, subject to acceptable content, for a company that pre-orders any of these three packs.
COVID-19
The epidemic is having a profound and potentially overwhelming effect on how companies can best adapt, survive and prosper. Engaging with employees and customers and empowering communities is as important as ever. As our contribution to this we plan to include (in the book and in the app) insights from our finalists about their experience of coping with this emergency and new initiatives they are considering as a consequence.
Inclusion is offered, subject to relevant content, for a company that pre-orders a Pack.
COMPANY IN APP
Where they have suitable video or PDF content on their initiative, or wish to have a splash-page about themselves, featured finalists will be offered to have this triggered by a special QR code included in the featured article for view on a reader’s mobile or tablet. We prepare your video clip if necessary to be around a minute long and add English subtitles (so the video can be viewed without audio, and to include your translation of the original if its not in English) and we convert your PDF to be up to an eight pages long responsive format that reads well on the small mobile display.
Inclusion is assured, subject to acceptance of proposed content, for a finalist that pre-orders a “Double-A” or “Triple-A” Pack.

NAMED INDIVIDUAL
In general articles focus on the engagement and empowerment ideas and do not mention people involved with an entry by name. This can be arranged however, typically alongside a (25 word max.) quote from the person concerned, ideally something that adds insight to the feature. This option is offered only to finalists that have content in the app as well, which could for instance be a splash-page with background info on and a full-colour picture of the team.
Inclusion is assured, subject to acceptance of the quote and space in the article, as part of the “Triple-A” Pack
BOOK AMBASSADOR
Order further quantities of books at a discount, to circulate amongst contacts that have an interest.
unWEBINAR
We plan later in 2021 to run online events for finalists and readers to attend, where selected finalists are invited to talk about their initiatives in conversation with other finalists. This content will be recorded and edited down for publication, subject to permission. It is an ‘unwebinar’ in that, unlike the normal webinar format where someone speaks and the audience can text questions, the content is a conversation between invited participants.
Vendors associated with entries that are featured in the book are offered a choice of three packs. The ‘Single A’ pack assures them also of an article in the book, providing further depth on a topic covered by an article on a related finalist’s entry, the “Double-A” pack adds their video or PDF being displayed on the reader’s mobile, and the “Triple-A” pack adds an acknowledgement of them in person in the article.
You can cut the average cost per book way down by supplementing your order with books to circulate amongst your clients, colleagues and other contacts. What this means for every company featured in the book is that their ideas will be seen by as broad a spectrum of interested parties as possible, as everyone with one of these packs is also helping circulate the book.

BRAND FEATURED IN AN ARTICLE
A vendor may be offered an article alongside their associated finalists, in the same chapter. This is typically a thought-piece about their specialisation provided by the vendor and edited by the author. The brand name is mentioned in the article. It should not promote features and benefits of the vendor’s offering. These brands are also listed in the Directory of Partner Brands (with a QR code that links to their website) and articles are referenced along with the brand name in the book’s Table of Contents.
Inclusion is assured, subject to acceptable content, for a vendor that takes a Pack.
BRAND CONTENT IN APP
